AFE4403: AFE4403 vs. AFE4400

Part Number: AFE4403
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4400,

I have a customer using the AFE4403 development board.  I am now building a custom PCBA and want to use the AFE4403 but it is too small for the PCB technology we are using.  The AFE4400 has a much larger part that i can use, but not sure if the functionality is the same.  Does anyone have any insight into the differences in these two parts?  I am only using two LEDs.  If not the 4400 then is there a better substitute?

  • Hi Dale,

Following are few major changes that I can recollect.
    1) AFE4403 has dynamic power down mode, which help to lower the total power consumption.
    2) AFE4403 has an option for the third LED.
    3) The current consumption of the transmitter section in AFE4403 is lower.
    4) AFE4403 has higher dynamic range.

For the further details, please refer to the datasheet.
