I see the project was done for short range with the IWR1642 but i'm wondering if it can be done or connected to a longer range sensors.

Let's assume 50m.

And assume i got the height to do it since it's outdoor.

I need to detect humans other than actually counting them.

In the 50m range i assume to see 2-3 people max.

Hello Dori,

This is definitely possible and I'd recommend ordering either an AWR1642BOOST or AWR1443BOOST. The AWR1243 is only the Radar Front End of the device, and while it is more than possible to detect people in 50 m range, you will need to have an external application processor for it.

I'd also recommend looking at the different Chirp Configurations on the TI Resource Explorer: dev.ti.com/.../
