AWR1243: how to stop RF signals on antenna-ports

Part Number: AWR1243

Hello,
I have a question about an operation state of "AWR1243" chip.
I'd like to measure a 1-port-S-parameter of input- and output- ports for TX and RX antennas. We already have an evaluation boads we desined for this purpose, but I think I need to stop RF signals on these ports on the AWR1243 and to add only DC bias on PAs (for TX) and LNAs (for RX) for this measurement. This operation state is not normal, so I don't know whether it is possible or not. Could you tell me about it?
Thank you.

  • Hello,
In the chirp config you could disable all the TX, that way nothing would get transmitted out on the RF pin.

  • Thank you for your reply.
After setting the "rlSetChirpConfig" which includes a command of "all the TX disable" you pointed out,
we observe no RF signals in output and a large and a rapid fluctuation in a total DC current.
I think that the current fluctuation suggests some blocks still active even in the state of "all the TX disable".
I'd like to confirm again, all DC biases in the TXs are ON (and all RF signals are OFF) when all the TXs are disabled?
  • Hello,
The current fluctuations are because of the RX and LO blocks turning ON and OFF inbetween the frames. But the TX would remain all OFF since the TXs are disabled.
