IWR1443BOOST: Possible to use for natural water measuring for max 30M

Hi,

Recently, I am researching a solution for measuring water level in dam or river, sea like this open places.

need to get millimeter lever accuracy and resolution. 

Also, it should work well for normal water as described. And I need to measure about 30M maximum.

Is it possible to use these mmWave Sensors for this purpose?

Or, is there anything else?

    Hello Yungsong,

    mmWave Sensors are going to be very good for this application and can detect water level with about one millimeter of accuracy. This accuracy can even be improved with a custom antenna design.

    If you're interested in testing this with your IWR1443BOOST, then I'd recommend looking at the High Accuracy Lab for 14xx on the TI-Resource Explorer: dev.ti.com/.../

    I have seen the mention in the document that it will be better to make water red for fluid like sea or river water.
    Do i need to concern this issue or not?

    We need to measure about 30 meters with high accuracy as I mentioned before.
