IWR1443: How 4K Demo generates Range Profile Structure?

Part Number: IWR1443

Hi,

There is 4K FFT Stitching Algorithm demo in Labs.

1_ Are 4K ADC samples goes from single chirp?

2_ How many 4K ADC samples or 4K FFT is used to generate Range Profile Structure of <<mmw Demo Data Structure_8_16.pdf >> ?

Regards,
Gennadii

  • HI Gennadii,

4K is the sample size of one chirp, as can be found from the profile_4K.txt profileCfg parameter.

The range profile shows data from doppler bin 0. According to profile_4K.txt, 8 chirps from one frame is processed in 1D FFT. The 1D FFT output will be summed in 2D FFT and show in the doppler bin 0. Note that 2D doppler FFT doesn't work in terms velocity for 4K stitching but bin 0 data (stationary objects only) is valid.

Let me know if you have more question.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Michelle
