IWR1642: IWR1642 Vital Signs Measurement demo

Part Number: IWR1642
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642

Hi,

I have an IWR1642 boost evm and I want to try the Vital Signs Measurement demo but I see that in the new industrial toolbox v2.0.0 the demo is for xwr1443.

Looking in the automotive toolbox v1.0.0.0 I found the demo for AWR1642 so I have two question:

1) can I run the Vital Signs Measurement demo for AWR1642 on a IWR1642 boost evm?

2) if the above response is true I have another problem. My evm was reworked to route the data cfg COM out of J6 connector instead of USB connector (remove 0ohm from R128/R129 and soldered 0ohm on R166/R169). So to connect to the evm I use the data COM over usb and a 3.3v serial-to-usb converted for cfg COM.

When I run on the host the gui  "mmwave_automotive_toolbox_1_0_0\labs\lab0001-driver-vital-signs\vitalSigns_host\gui\gui_exe\VitalSignsRadar_Demo.exe" It will autodetect the COM port and I can't change it's value to match the one of my serial to usb converter. How can I change the COM port in gui (clicking on "Setting" menu I cant select other COM port)? Looking in "mmwave_automotive_toolbox_1_0_0\labs\lab0001-driver-vital-signs\vitalSigns_host\gui\gui_source" I see there are the sources of the gui and in dialogsettings.cpp there is the COM configuration. If I modify this source to match my COM port name then how can I rebuild the GUI? I did not find documentation on how to do it

Regards,

Luca

  • Hi,

Yes, you can run the demo on IWR1642

Unfortunately we can only provide limited support for rebuilding the gui.

Please download QT and import the provided project. Additional support for QT should be available from the open source community

    thank you
