LDC0851: Sensor and Reference Coil

Hi,

Can the chip inductor(SMD/SMT 0603) instead of the pcb coil be used for the sensor and reference coil ?
Could you please tell me the coils which have been adopted if possible ?

Hi Kato,

Theoretically, it is possible to use a wire-wound inductor as the coil, but we recommend PCB inductors as they can be very well matched.

Even a mismatch of 5% between the sensor and reference coils can lead to a reduction in sensing range by 25%.
