COIL DESIGN

I am Karthik,Is Rp=620ohm is enough for the coil of 55turns and 1uf capacitor in parallel?

  • Hello,
The LDC1000 supports a minimum Rp of 798Ω. A value of 620Ω is below the minimum. You may be able to decrease the capacitor value to improve the RP. Additionally, when computing the values for the sensor you need to look at the Inductance not just the turns. You can refer to the following application note on designing inductive sensors: www.ti.com/.../SNOA930
The combination of inductance and capacitance will tell you the expected sensor frequency using formula 1 from the application note above. The LDC1000 supports a sensor frequency between 5kHz and 5MHz.
You may also find more of our application notes which may help your design go more smoothly:

I would specifically start with the LDC device selection guide: www.ti.com/.../snoa954
