We have tested AWR evm using demo visualizer.Now we want to generate control signal based on obstacle detected.Can we get the sample code,which platform to use,and step by step procedure to dump the code?

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes, I've seen examples but i am not able to find appropriate code to find distance of the obstacle. I also want to control gpio and CAN protocol after detecting an object.Please guide me to achieve the same. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Can you please provide more information about the application you are trying to use the AWR1642 for?

Using CAN protocol with the AWR1642 board requires modifying the board. There are several forum threads describing this changes.

Please search through the forum threads using "CAN ECO" key words

Hi,

Our application is real time scenario where we control the motion of an autonomous vehicle by detecting the object through radar sensor.

1) we know that we get the data as plots but we want to send these values to a different units of the vehicle ,so how do we achieve this?

2)If the object detected is under threshold value , through CAN bus we want the control signal to be sent to braking.

3)As of now , we are using CCS platform to build the code. Is there any other better platform? And please let us know about the coding language under that platform.

Hi,

1) You will need to decide what the overall system architecture is. You can use the CAN protocol to communicate with other MCUs in the system

2) The AWR1642BOOST supports the UART interface out of the box. It is possible to modify the board to get the CAN interface working. Please refere to other forum threads discussing this topic.

3) CCS is the development platform to develop code for the AWR1642BOOST. The coding language is C.

Please run the demo provided with the mmWave SDK to get familiar with this platform.
