OPT3002: Reliability for OPT3002 at 395 nm?

Does any one have any reliability data for using the OPT3002 in the uV spectrum? My application is at 395 nm.

Does anyone have information about the epoxy used in the IC package body?

Hi Douglas,

We have some information on UV reliability in the OPT3001 app note: www.ti.com/.../sbea002a.pdf Reliability should be similar between OPT3001 and OPT3002. Could you check section 5. Ultraviolet Compensation, and see if that helps.

Here's an excerpt: "While most semiconductors are not responsive to UV light, high-energy UV
waves can cause damage to the device packaging over time. While this problem is specific for parts that
are left outdoors for months or years at a time, small amounts of exposure have negligible effects."
