LM35: LM35 sensor getting too hot .

Hello,

I have connected as per the data sheet. the sensor is getting heated up like a burning hot. but it is showing correct values for room temperature. its showing around 3.1V for 32degC

But i dont see any increase or decrease in values properly when i try to make it cool. is it damaged ?

Kiran,

Which circuit example of the datasheet did you follow? The device doesn't consume a lot of current so it shouldn't be hot. How many devices did you test this circuit with? Check with a new device to see if it's the device or not.

Thanks for the reply . i am just using it with arduino and its part number is LM32DZ . connection as below . if device is damaged how come its showing correct values for room temp ?

Please repeat this circuit with a new LM35 device and let me know if it still gets hot.
