I am working on a robotic application where I am planning on using ultrasonic sensors for floor edge detection (eg: stairs). My sensing distance will be less than 10cms. Can the PGA460-Q1 (or any other TI product) be used for such short range detection? I do not need a accurate distance read out. Just the presence or absence of the floor below the robot edge. The ultrasonic transducers will be mounted facing down to sense the floor.
