AWR1443BOOST: what additional hardware will be included in AWR1443BOOST as compared to AWR1443

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443, , AWR1642, AWR1243

As i could find out on the site that AWR1442 include the RF end with R4F MCU and a Hardware acceleartor and other componnents. If i'm not wrong about what i just said, what additional hardware we are getting with AWR1442BOOST EVM?  As there is a lot of difference in the price of both so please enlist the difference clearly.

Thanks

  • Please review the AWR1442BOOST documentation

The AWR1443BOOST is an Evaluation Board and AWR1443 is the mmwave sensor chip used on this board.

    thank you

  • If I buy AWR1443 sensor chip, which other TI products i need to buy to complete my design?
  • Hi

Can you please provide more details about what you goal is? What are you trying to achieve?

    Thank you

  • hi,
I'm working on radar systems for autonomous vehicles. I want a radar system for the ranges between 100-200 m and which can detect and track multiple targets within this range. So along with the RF end, i'll be needing a microcontroller to control the radar unit and a DSP which can process these tracking and detection algorithims.

    Regards
  • Thank you for the details.

As we have discussed in the past, we have a radar+DSP standalone solution (AWR1642) with SRR and MRR code example ready for you to evaluate. This solution can be used for ranges up to ~100m.

For longer range you need to consider radar (AWR1243) + Host Processor (for control, tracking, detection)

The host processor will control the radar through SPI and the data path will be CSI2.

At this point there is no reference design from TI (hw & sw) for AWR1243+Host Processor.

    Thank you
