IWR1443BOOST: Stack up thickness question??

The stack up show the thickness of ITEQ IT 180A prepreg 1080 4.195 mils, the nominal IT 180A prepreg 1080 thickness is 5 mils or 4 mils, there is no 4.195 mils on the list. Could you explain why you put 4.195 mils prepreg on the IWR1443Boost stack up?

Hello Feng,

I am researching your question with our PCB fabrication vendor. In the mean time there are two reference documents, and an additional yet to be published document:

SWRR150 - Hardware Design Checklist, this lists the ITEQ IT 180A Prepreg 1080 - as having a base thickness of 4.195, processed thickness of 2.83.4214.HardwareDesignChecklist_V0p7fix_IWR1443_SWRR150.xlsx

sprr253 - design database for the IWR1443 EVM

IWR1443BOOST_Rev-A-Stackup.pdf - this document also lists the ITeq IT 180A 1080 as Base thickness 4.195, processed thickness 2.83.

I think the processed thickness is the important value. I will update the E2E, when I get confirmation from the PCB vendor.

Hi Joe,
I think both the base thickness and the process thickness is important because the PCB manufacture need to get the correct material thickness to start the process, please verify they use 5mils ITEQ 180A prepreg 1080 or 4 mils.
