AWR1443BOOST: Elevation angle AWR1443 sensors provide

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443

What is that max. height an AWR1443 sensor can detect at the closest detectable distance?

Also, is there any other TI's mmwave radar sensor that can give a 3D- Point Cloud Data(position coordinates along with the height of the object) within a range of 100m atleast?

Thanks

  • Hi,

The results will depend on the observed objects characteristics such as: type of object, range, velocity ...
The result will also depend on the signal processing performed.

You would need to run some tests

    thank you

  • Are there any algorithims in the mmwave sdk to detect the height of the objects too? If there are any demo projects on this, please guide.

    Regards
  • Hi,

The algorithms provided in the mmwave sdk will provide the reflection points (x,y,z) coordinates. You should be able to compute the max differences in x,y,z

However, depending on the objects you may not get reflection points at the top and bottom of the object to determine the height.

This is the reason why I mentioned that you need to run some experiments

    thank you
