Hello,

For the OPT3101EVM I can see that it has a range of 45 meters, I am writing to ask if there are any materials available to take this design to a increased range. I am thinking the TX could be a laser. Please tell me what app notes or other materials or products are available to take this to a higher range (greater distance) of measurement.

    The question of range for OPT3101 is very dependent on the optical design and the application requirements (environment conditions, needed accuracy/noise tolerance, etc) so as much detail that you can provide in that regard will be helpful.

    Can you please provide some details on what type of range you looking to get and what type of application/environment is this going to be operating in? To hit 45 meters or greater requires extremely powerful optics even with a laser. The reflectivity of the target will also play a large role as well as the conditions (if outside, rain/weather, for example).     Additionally, the EVM cannot reach 45 meters of range. It is more around 5-10 meters of range depending on the target. May I ask where you saw the 45 meter number for the EVM?
