AFE4490: Some AFE4490 not recognized by AFE GUI

We are using multiple AFE4490 EVM boards. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad running Windows 10. For some of the modules, the AFE GUI software recognizes the board and works well, but for others which are exactly the same, it seems that the software doesn't recognize it. The devices are all recognized in device manager as a COM port and correct driver is updated, but when we open the AFE GUI software, it doesn't recognize some of the boards. It gives me the following error "An error occured while communicating with the device. Press Continue to Simulate Communication. Press Stop & Close to Exit". All of the boards work on a colleague's laptop, which indicates that the boards are functioning properly. What could be the issue?

Hi Charlotte,

Welcome to TI E2E forum.

As mentioned in section 10.9 of the user guide, can you check if it works by switching the COM port number to a different value preferably to the one that was assigned to a working board?

Thank you so much for your help. I did try changing the COM port number as instructed in the user manual, even to values that work for other boards. Unfortunately, some of them still are not recognized by the AFE GUI. Is there something else I can try?

I am assuming you were able to resolve the issue by changing the COM port number.
