Hi.

I am an EE looking to use mm wave radar to detect and track small

metalized objects. (think cannon-balls) I was wondering what EVM's

you recommend for this task. I see th AWR1642BOOST evaluation board,

and I was wondering what else I need to start playing with it.

What radar system do you recommend for maximal range? What is a

typical range with these systems ?

Hi

We recommend the 1642BOOST EVM. In addition to the EVM you will only need to purchase a power supply.

The mmWave SDK is available for download from our site.

What are the typical sensing distances with this EVB?

It will depend on the type of object.

For moving cars, we are able to detect with AWR1642BOOST EVM up to 80-120m
