AWR1243: how to use the testsource function of Radar Studio ?

Part Number: AWR1243

I want to use the test source tab,I set the velocity of object1,then I cinfig the radar as normal ,but at the postproc ,the 2DFFT can not find a moving target. I may be not understand the function of testsource in the Radar Studio. Please help me solve the problem, thank you

  • Please let us know in details the options you are using

    thank you

  • I want to emulate the target use the test source so that I dont need to put the target in the front of radar.I can devote to the signal processing.but when i use the function of testsource , i set the poseition , velocity of object1,but when i processing the data,i cant find any moving target . I can not find any user guide of the testsource ,can you give me a exmple of how to use the testsource or just a demo of using testsource,Did I make myself clear?
  • Hello,

Did you select the 'Test Source Enable' box in the SensorConfig tab?

If you select this option, you should be able to just use Radar Studio exactly as you would without a test source.

  • Thank you for your reply, the test source work.can you tell me how to set the size of the object in the "testsource"?
  • The only way to adjust the size is to adjust the Signal Level on the TestSource tab. A higher signal level will correspond to a larger object. Unfortunately, you can't adjust the size directly.

  • can I use the ' testsource' in TDM -MIMO,when I use the 'testsource' ,I put a object x=5 ,y=5,z=0,velocity = 0,I use the radar in the TDM-MIMO TX1-TX3,RX1-RX2-RX3-RX4,I use this to emulate the 1TX -8RX,I do the 3dfft across the 8 RX Antenna,I find the phase of RX1 to RX4  is linearity,RX5 to  RX8   is linearity, but the pahse of RX1 to RX8 is not a linearity.just like the picture, I think it may be the tdm does not work.can you tell me the reasons.
