MMWAVE-DEVPACK: Error meessage"Clock from ADC EVM not received by TSW board" when testing with TSW1400

Hi Kemeng,

I would like to quickly validate your set-up.  There should be 3 usbs, 1 to the EVM, 1 to the devPack, and 1 to the TSW1400. The small LVDS cable runs from EVM to devPack as shown in your picture, and a Large LVDS cable should run from the devPack to the TSW1400.  The TSW1400 and EVM both need to be powered.

Which version of Radar Studio and HSDC pro are you using?  What firmware are you flashing the device with?

Hi Justin,
Thank you for your reply. I am sure that my set-up is validated. I flashed the device with AWR16xx_lvds_4Channel_ddr_4bit_par_centre_12(or14/16)_bit firmware in HSDC pro. The version of Radar Studio and HSDC pro is mmwave_dfp_01_00_00_01.

Sorry for that I misinterpret the version you mean.

The version of Radar Studio is v1.9.2.1 and HSDC pro is v4.80.

Are you able to program the device with Radar Studio using your current configuration? Did you follow all instructions in the readme in the dfp to set up HSDC pro?

Hi Justin,

it is able to program the device with Radar Studio, and I  follow all instructions in the readme in the dfp to patch up HSDC pro so that i can find hardware awr16xx_lvdsxxxxx in the firmware drop down menu of HSDC pro. There are some details i enclosed in this reply.

From the details enclosed in the word doc,

1) If you are getting the "no frame config information" error, then you are not properly configuring the device with Radar Studio.

2) How is the DevPack connected to the TSW1400? Generally an LVDS cable would run between the two, but in your picture, I cannot see the connection.

Thank you for always help.

(1)Which device may not be configured properly, IWR1642 or TSW1400? How can I fix it?

(2)Mmwave-devpack directly connected to the TSW1400 board with 120pin connector onboard.

(3)Why the LED_3 of TSW1400 always off, in other word, why the TSW1400 cannot received a validated clock ?

(4)I guess that maybe some of these boards were already out of order. Is this a event with high probability?

Hi Kemeng,

1) When configuring the 1642 with Radar Studio, make sure you configure the profile, chirp, and frame.

3) Your TSW1400 is not receiving a because the connection is bad or HSDC Pro is malfunctioning. Where did you get your devPack?

I get the devPack from a agent not official website, because they have a faster transportation. Is the devPack related to the LED_3 off?

We sell the DevPack through Arrow Electronics as well. However, your devPack may not be legitimate, and is most likely the reason you cannot properly connect.
