Do I need to write separate apps for the MSS and DSS of the AWR1642?

When working in this mode, the demo runs on DSS only. However, executable image of MSS is additionally required to be loaded and run on R4 for the purpose of performing SOC initialization
It looks to me like I need at least a minimalist MSS app, am I right?
