Hey Akeem,

This is Kevin. Long ago, I asked a question regarding using the BOOSTXL-PGA460 evaluation module with the MSP430G2553. U mentioned the reduced memory on the microcontroller and the absence of an SPI port on the MSPG2553 in accordance with the pinout of the evaluation module to be the reason why the same program (GetDistance) for an MSP430F5529LP would not compile for the MSP430G2553 on Energia. Currently, the most latest version of the PGA460 Energia library and code examples is 1.0.8. You also mentioned a possibility that you would work on a version to support this (1.0.9).

This project I am working on is part of the MyGov.in IICDC competition held in partnership with Texas Instruments. Our team is now into the Semifinals stage and would like to clear these technical issues as soon as possible to move ahead. If this version is being worked on, could it be completed well before May 28th 2018 (our deadline), if not, could we request your personal assistance with the code for the module?

Yes, I am currently in the process of releasing a cleaner, better-organized partition of the various communication modes and LaunchPad types for the PGA460 Energia library. I can prioritize the availability of the 'G2553 port for your project prior to May 28th. I will send you a follow-up message when the update is available.

We are required to complete this module under certain deadlines that fall well before your proposed date (May 28th). Would it be possible if we could acquire a quicker means of contact for our questions as we simultaneously try to modify the header file to work with the G2553?

Which communication mode will you be using: UART, SPI, OWU, or TCI? I can send you a simplified version of the port this week based on which communication mode you will be using.

I would prefer SPI with the EVM as I would like to keep the single UART port available for serial monitor only

Hi Kevin,

I have ported the PGA460 Energia library for 'G2553 LaunchPad compatibility in SPI mode. The downloadable can be found on the E2E Ultrasonic FAQ page as "MSP-EXP430G2 & BOOSTXL-PGA460 in USART-SPI Mode Energia Library and GetDistance.ino Sketch":

Please note that the BOOSTXL-PGA460 will not stack directly onto the 'G2553 LaunchPad in SPI mode when you also need to use the serial monitor because of how the USCI_B0 port is defined on the MSP430G2553. Only UART, OWU, and TCI allow for a stacked hardware solution. If you weren't using the serial monitor, the hardware could be stacked based on the definition of the USCI_A0 port with a single jumper of the UCA0CLK pin. You will need to jumper the LaunchPad pins to the BOOSTXL-PGA460 based on the spreadsheet in the downloadable.
