I have a AWR1443 boost sdk and a TSW1400 raw data capture board. The board works great as a stand alone radar system right out of the box. But, I do not have any mmW test equipment and am trying to characterize an mmW radar signal from an automobile. Is there a simple way I can look at the received FFT to characterize the frequency, band width, chirp rate and number of chirps per frame. How can I simply collect the data and post process it in Matlab?

Hi,

Bandwidth, chirp rate, number of chirps per frame are part of the configuration. Are you familiar with this?

Take a look at the mmw demo in the mmWave SDK. It outputs selected radar data to the "data" UART port each frame. The format is described in the demo's html documentation. You can modify the code to output whatever you want and feed it to Matlab. Look for the function MmwDemo_transmitProcessedOutput in this file:

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_01_02_00_05\packages\ti\demo\xwr14xx\mmw\main.c
