AWR1642: Any register to indicate the silicon revision

Hi,

I know we can get the silicon revision from the chip part number, while the part number is not printed in the chip surface. So if the customer get one chip, don't have the detail chip part number, how to get the silicon revision? Is there one register can be read to check the revision? Thanks.

Hi Andy,

Indeed you may read bits 3:0 at memory location 0xFFFFE218. It will read 1 for PG 1.0 or 2 for PG 2.0. I guess the mmWaveLink API call rlDeviceGetVersion() would give this information and more too.

I tried on one ES1.0 IWR1642 EVM, read the memory 0xFFFFE218, the value on DSS is all zero, on MSS is ox01. The 0xFFFFE218 is for MSS memory map, right?
I will try on ES2.0 EVM once have, thanks.

Indeed this register is inside the PRCM module in the MSS memory space.
