AWR1642: What is the Grid mapping in SRR demo

Part Number: AWR1642

Hi,

I find there is below figure to configure the grid mapping, what does this mean, and what is this used for?

  • Hi Andy,

These are options to enable 'occupancy grid' generation using the SRR demo (you can see the aim in www.youtube.com/watch.

In essence, what we did was collated the point cloud (from the AWR1642) across time using the speed of the car. The speed of the car was taken from the OBD sensor and stored real-time into a source file).

Note that we could only extract the speed from the OBD sensor. We couldn't extract other parameters like the steering wheel position. So the merging algorithm will always assume that the car is moving forward with a specific velocity.

Instructions on how to set it up are found in \srr\gui\SRRvisualization\Executable\Readme.txt (at the very end).

    Regards
    Anil
