Hey TI team,

Sometimes during the TIDEP-0091 demo, the system randomly freezes during both single frame and continuous measurement modes. Is there a way to diagnose what's happening on the AWR1443 during this process?

Hello Alex,

This is a good question, I haven't encountered this before. Can you talk about how long it takes for this freeze to occur? Does your terminal throw an error of some kind?

You can also try the demo in debug mode if this is a consistent problem for you.

The freeze always occurs when control is relinquished to the AWR1443, and can be anywhere from the 1st to the 100th sample, but is usually around the 16th

The terminal just hangs during the process with the reply from the MSP432 either "Start one-shot measurement" or "Starting Timer"

When I run the AWR1443 by itself, it does not seem to fail, but it only runs once, then hangs at the while loop, waiting to be powered down.

So, the system did fail once during debug, but since I wasn't expecting it, nor was looking for the failure at the time. I didn't see where the stack went off to. I'll keep my eyes peeled, since now it does seem to happen in debug mode.

Hi Alex,

Can you confirm you made the hardware modifications required in the Getting Started Guide (GSG)? If you haven't then the timing reports are likely your problem. You can resolve this by commenting out the "#define REPORT_IR14_TIME_MEASUREMENTS" on line 61 of the demo_common.h in the lsdemo_msp432_m4f. Let me know if this doesn't work for you.

I had lent my flashed device to a colleague and when I got it back I couldn't recreate the hang-up event. I'm going to count this as solved, and there was a loose fitting or solder joint.
