LDC1612EVM: Purpose of R10, R18, and J8

Part Number: LDC1612EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1612

Hello,

I am looking at the schematic for the LDC1612, and everything makes sense to me except for the R10, R18 resistors that are connected to the J8 connector. Could you please explain what this could be used for?

Thanks!

Matt

  • Matthew,

If those resistors are removed, then you can use the J8 connector to either:

    - supply VDD externally (useful if you want to test how the part behaves across the full VDD range)
    - measure the current into the LDC1612 through VDD

We often include zero ohm resistors in places where it would be useful to break the circuit or as placeholders for filter components. That way boards don't have to be mutilated to run these types of tests.

    I hope this helps!
