I have followed the video for capturing raw data using the IWR1443.Boost, MMWAVE-DEVPACK, the TSW1400 REV 0 boards assembled stack. The UniFlash appears to work on the stand alone IWR1443BOOST board (vers4.3.0.1802). Hooking it together and running HSDC Pro the first thing seen in the HSDC Pro (verrs 4.8) drop down menu is non of the IWR14xx items are listed. Please send email for the correct software packages that are for the configuration listed, binaries to flash, etc. Thanks in advance.

Hi Wm,

You can download the latest DFP here. It includes Radar Studio, which will be required for use with HSDC Pro. This has installation instructions to add mmWave specific drivers to HSDC Pro.

Yes I have downloaded the DFP and have gone back to restart the whole procedure step by step. I will document each step that does not meet expectations.

I went back and did step by step. The HSDC Pro (vets 4.8.0) does not show the mmw devices in the drop-down. So, I need a list of programs, locations, and versions that are needed for the stack to function. Likewise, I need a check list of install steps which are to be followed for each of the board sets; the IWR1443Boost, MMWaveDev, and TWS1400 board set; the IWR1642Boost, MMWaveDev, and TWS1400 board set. Please email.

Hi Wm,

The user's guide in the docs section will explain most of the procedure. It is missing one step:
After installing HSDC Pro, navigate to this directory: <DFP_INSTALL_PATH>\rf_eval\radarstudio\HSDCProFiles\.
Here you will find a ReadMe.txt file. It has instructions to move the .ini files in that folder to the HSDC Pro folder. Doing this will allow you to see the xwr drives in the HSDC Pro dropdown.

Found the readme, followed the process, and now on start-up I get the no firmware loaded as expected. I select theAWR12xx_lvds_4Chan line and start the download. It fails with error message "JTAG_CHAIN_BROKEN_ERROR" the JTAG chain was broken while loading the firmware. What did I miss or what is wrong??

Hi Wm,

Lets just check a few things on your setup. Hardware wise, there should be a 1 USB connection to the TSW1400, 1 to the devPack, and 1 to the IWR1443. Ensure the TSW1400 is powered on (fan should be spinning).

Now lets check software. HSDC is installed with mmWave package added. Have you installed the FTDI drivers? When running HSDC Pro, do you see a 'Check D3 bit' error message in the bottom left corner of the GUI?

The TWS1400 board switch was OFF, turned it on and fan started. The Com ports are listed (AR-DevPack-EVM-12 (COM6-9), XDS110 Class Application/User UART (COM 3), and XDS110 Class Application Data Port (COM4). Started HSDC Pro v4.80 and it sequenced as expected “no firmware, select board type, load firmware, and connected and Idle. Launched Radar Studio 1.0.0.0 presents a display window that is empty! Which and where is the correct Radar Studio?

Hi Wm,

I want to confirm you were able to load the firmware now.
Radar Studio requires matlab runtime 8.5.1. Do you have that installed?

The board does load firmware. I have Program Files (x86)\MATLAB\MATLAB Runtime\v851 installed. But I do not trust mmwave radar studio is correct very.

What is installed is ‘C:\ti\mmwave_studio_01_00_00_00. I thought I had at one time a earlier version, but it is not on the computer.

Hi Bill,

When you start radar studio, is the output console open? It will display a message saying "Starting Matlab Engine". If you don't see this, click View->Output. It should show an error if there is no display.

When started it (v1.0.0.0) it does not start with the output window open. It runs a script and fails. It never says anything about MATLAB.

I reinstalled MATLAB runtime and restarted the stack and programs. All works up to the Loading of the radarss and masterss bins and the SPI stays red. The ES versions do not match. I will try the files from prior devpack tomorrow.

Hi Bill,

If you device has a sticker that says ES2.0, it is ES 2. Otherwise it is ES 1. The dfp 1.0.0.1 has drivers for ES 1.0.
