Linux/AWR1642BOOST: AWR1642BOOST Rev A doesn't work with DSK 2.0?

Hello,

I just got an AWR1642BOOST Rev. A. I flashed it with SDK 2.0 successfully, but in "mmWave Demo Visualizer" when I click on "SEND CONFIG TO MMWAVE DEVICE", nothing happens, i.e., there is nothing in "Console Messages". Then I went back to SDK 1.2, after re-flash, it works fine as AWR1443BOOST. Does this mean SDK 2.0 doesn't support AWR1642BOOST Rev. A (I guess it only support Rev. B and up) as it doesn't support AWR1443BOOST.

I wonder what is it, as my colleague just order another AWR1443BOOST and a AWR1642BOOST, the Rev. B just released last week after our order? I even can't find a document for Rev. A of AWR1642BOOST now.

I would like the new feature of Rev. B to have a switch for SPI and CAN. Do you have plan to have this switch also on AWR1443BOOST?

Hi Tao Wang,

SDK 2.0 only support 1642 ES2.0 device. If you are using ES1.0 device, the latest SDK version is 1.02.00.05.

Please check the device version in your EVM, please refer page 80 in datasheet.

On my AWR1642BOOST, the sensor is "XWR1642 IG 74ZE289 502 ABL G1". It seems Rev. 1.

My Colleague just ordered last week, I would like to have a replace with new version. I want the feature of CAN/SPI switch. Who should I contact to do the replace?

You can refer the application note to add CAN feature in your application.

Hello Wesley,

You are talking about on coding to get CAN bus work. My question is how to prepare the hardware. On AWR1443BOOST, there is two registers to populate, and 6 resistors to remove. When I saw in the AWR1642BOOST Rev. B doc, there is a switch (only for Rev. B and up) to switch between CAN and SPI, I would like to have it. Would mind ask estore stuff, is the AWR1642BOOST Rev. B available? Why document is already updated to Rev. B (I even cannot find doc of Rev. A I got last week), the product we ordered last week was still Rev. A.

If replacement of AWR1642BOOST Rev. A with Rev. B is not in your policy, then how to change the hardware of Rev. A to make it work with CAN bus, is it the same as AWR1443BOOST?
