AWR1243: real time with 2 chip cascade

Part Number: AWR1243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5716

Hi team,

my customer has done a design with 2 chips cascade based on AWR1243.

It wants to transfer RAW DATA to PC (for processing) in the fastest way possible, There is maybe any development card that he can use to perform that?

what your recommendations/perception about it, Thanks.

regards,

Shai

  • Hi,

    What application are you targetting.

There is currently no commercial solution to capture raw data from cascaded chips. You would have to design a board to capture the data.
What type of host are you using. You may be able to capture of few seconds of raw data on the host side if you have sufficient memory.

    thank you

  • Cesar Hello,

    the application is Radar-based ADAS.
right now the customer does all the process on PC (host) and he has captured the radar raw data using the TSW1400 which able to capture only small chunk every time.
the customer would like to set up a real-time processing solution using PC (for now), maybe there is an option to use USB3 Transceiver (5.0 Gbps) which can handle to transmit the two CSI-2 port or perhaps using a Sitara processor which have two CSI-2 port like AM5716 and transmit the raw data directly to PC.
please, do you have any suggestions about it, Thanks?

    Kind regards,
    Shai
  • Cesar, there is an update?

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

If the usable bandwidth is 5G than this would be sufficient for 2 cascade solution.

However depending on the driver that runs on the host, I don't think there will be 5G usable bandwidht.

Please check with Sitara team on potential Sitara solution

    thank you
