Hi.

I am making TOF board base on OPT8241-CDK-EVM. just replaced laser diode with VCSEL.

I used 4 VCSEL. Its power is 1W.

I didn't fix a target application/distance yet. I will test after preparing new board with 4 VCSELs changing power.

I have a basic question because I didn't test yet with TOF board and not good at optical issue & TOF.

Normally people told me 0.5W power of laser diode is enoufh for face recognition. it measn distance is within 50cm. and 2W for 4m

but they didn't explain it exactly.

I know there are many factors. but could anyone give me advice for this?

I want to know how much power is needed for each target distance?

or how much lumens is need for each target distance.

I am studying laser diode characteristic, but not good yet.
