AWR1642: P1dB

Part Number: AWR1642

Hello,

Previous thread: e2e.ti.com/.../612450

I just saw this thread and I wanted to confirm my understanding of 1 dB compression point (out of band) (-8 dBm) and in band P1dB (Figure 5-1).

1 dB compression point (out of band) is basically the saturating point of the LNA (-8 dBm)

For receiver gain of 24 dB, the IB P1dB is -23 dB. If the input signal is above -23 dB, it will saturate the ADC.

If there is a really close strong signal ( for example input power is -10 dBm) it would not saturate the LNA but it would need to be attenuated by HPF to be below -23 dBm in order to not saturate the ADC.

Is my understanding correct?

Thank you,

Faiz Ahmed
