AWR1443BOOST: raw ADC streaming for an arbitrary amount of time

We just purchased the TSW1400 EVM to do captures of raw ADC samples from our AWR1443BOOST. I am seeing in the Radar Studio User's Guide on page 24 that the TSW1400 EVM can only capture frames for 10s. How can we capture raw data for a longer period of time, ideally infinitely long? We want to write our own realtime processing pipeline of ADC samples and cannot do this if we have to manually re-capture frames every 10s.

Hi,

In order to capture raw ADC samples you would need to use the DCA1000 evm that was released this week. It will enable capturing longer raw data for a longer period of time

Hi Cesar,

I looked at the user guide but I am having trouble finding answers to these key questions:

-how much longer can the new DCA1000evm do raw IQ samples capture for?
-can the DAC1000evm do streaming of radar samples for an unlimited amount of time?
-what software is required to do sample captures (e.g. HSDC pro) and is it possible to capture data without a GUI (e.g. can I make a C program to receive raw data over Ethernet without a GUI?)

HI
- with the DCA1000 there is no time limit since data is streamed to PC
- mmWave Studio is the SW required to use DCA1000
- At this point data capture is supported only through GUI configuration

Hi Cesar, thanks for your response. A couple more questions:

- does the DCA1000evm allow us to use all 3 TX antennas and all 4 RX antennas? With the current TSW1400+Radar Studio setup we are limited to using 2 TX antennas according to this document: training.ti.com/.../mmWave_sensor_raw_data_capture_using_TSW1400_board_v3.pdf
- how will the data be available? currently radar studio creates a binary file. Will one large binary file be created?
- we are interested in knowing the timestamp of when a radar frame was captured (within a millisecond of error), is it possible to monitor the ethernet packets using software like WireShark and then reconstruct the radar data from the packets ourselves to such that we can use the ethernet packet timestamps to determine frame timing?
