TDC1000-C2000EVM: Question:Why is the time always 38us?

Part Number: TDC1000-C2000EVM

  • Hi Xinkai,

It is most likely that the transducer ringdown is being captured at the earliest opportunity as a return echo. Since you only have a single STOP set up, you will only see that as the output. The easiest way to check if this is the case is to change the AUTOZERO_PERIOD, and see if this changes the time accordingly.

If that is the case, you will need to adjust your blanking time dependent on the expected TOF values. You can find a guide for setting these parameters on the FAQ here: e2e.ti.com/.../3611.everything-you-need-to-know-for-ultrasonic-tof-liquid-coupled-collateral-tools-designs-faq

    Regards,
  • Thanks,Scott.

I have tried to modify it, but this does not seem to work. I read the article mentioned in the link above and tried to modify some of the parameters. It has played some role, but some problems still occur from time to time, so I don't know that one or several parameters should be modified to ensure that it completely normal work. When I adjust the parameters, it can complete the measurement, but then the problem "TOF timeout" will appear again, and the value also seems to be no longer credible.

    Thanks a lot!
