Dear All,

I am planning to develop contact-less object alignment detection machine so currently evaluating different sensors (like profile scanner, 3D camera, ToF with 3D camera).

I have found OPT8320 with ToF feature so any body can suggest any other low cost better option to serve the purpose? any other TI chip can be useful?

I need to observe object of size approx 150 cm X 150 cm. I need to check its alignment from front side with accuracy in mm.

Hi Deep,

Can you please give more specifics for your target specification?

- Accuracy
- Precision
- Frame rate
- Minimum detection size for object

If you are looking for a high accuracy solution, you might want to consider using OPT8241.

Thank you very much for your time to review my query and reply.

Let me explain the requirement.

Targeted object is Wheel rim so doesn't have plain surface. I want to use this sensor to scan its profile and check its alignment. Wheel so maximum dia will be 3000 mm.

I want to scan all points to get displacement with common reference to find whether it is in align or not with as much as possible accuracy.

I hope this helps you to know more about requirement and share your suggestions.

Hi Deep,

I think OPT8241 is more suited for your requirement. Please review the datasheet and other documentation, videos posted on the TI website to understand details of ToF system operation.
