DCA1000EVM: IWR1443BOOST raw data by using DCA1000

Part Number: DCA1000EVM

Hello all,

I'm trying to caputuer raw data. It was following mmWave studio GUI User's Guide.

I did User's Guide of Continous Streaming Tab Operation(page 28). But save files were almost 0 byte as bellow.

I'm not sure what is wrong. I want to know right operation and setting on DCA1000.

Plase let me know how to captute raw data. I think you have script file and EVM setting when DCA1000 was validated.

It's helpful about DCA1000 script file of raw data and SWs setiing on DCA1000.

  • Hi M.Iwasaki,

Can you capture ADC data in frame mode?

Please follow Section 9.3 Frame Config in mmwave_studio_user_guide.pdf

  • Hi M.Iwasaki,
In 2nd step, you should click ADC CONFIG-SET, then LPADC-SET, then RF_INIT.
Also, you can open the view->output window, and it will give you warning if you did a wrong step.

Here's a setup guide for old version of mmWave studio, the steps are similar.

  • Hi Mitsuharu Iwasaki,

The step you did is correct. Please double check with listed items:

    • IWR1443EVM version, it should be ES1.0 or ES2.0, could you please follow the datasheet and double check with it? Figure 8-1 in link:
    • You can open View->Output window in mmWave Studio to check if the configuration is correctly or not?

    Regards,

    Wesley

  • Hello Wesley,

I attachied Output log and EVM photo. I found "TESTING = false" after mmWaveSTudio is launched.

I have two IWR1443BOOSTs. I tried another IWR1443BOOT. But it has same message.

Is jumper setting correct? Please give me comments about Output log and my question.

    Best Regards.,

    Mitsuharu Iwasaki

  • Hello Wesley,

I added to the privious reply. Our EVM is XIWR1443, QG, 74ZE0JQ,964D,ABL and G1.
    It's ES2.0.

  • Hi Mitsuharu Iwasaki,

If you are using ES2.0 device, please use ES2.0 firmware.

    C:\ti\mmwave_studio_01_00_00_00\rf_eval_firmware\masterss\xwr12xx_xwr14xx_masterss_ES2.0.bin

    C:\ti\mmwave_studio_01_00_00_00\rf_eval_firmware\radarss\xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss_ES2.0.bin

    Thanks.

  • Hello Wesley,

Thank you for suporting. Data capture is succesful.
I have a concern. When mmWaveStudio is launched, there is the message as TESTING = false.
    Do I ignore it?
