IWR1642BOOST: IWR1642 Chirp Configuration?

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642

Hi

I'm reading the IWR1642 mmWave Sensor datasheet and having trouble in finding following information:

    - Is the ADC decimation configuration? can I configure it to a desired samlping frequency (e.g 5MSPS)?

    - Can the chirp be configured by: start frequency, stop frequency, chirp duration etc. instead of using parameters like max range, range resolution in the "mmWave Demo Visualizer"?

    - Where do I find the documentation for describing the sensor registers (chirp parameter configuration)?

Could you help me with those information please. Thanks very much.

Bien

  • Hi Bien,

The visualizer is actually just intended to provide an out-of-box experience and should not be your main reference for chirp parameters.

We do actually have two pieces of collateral for chirp programming:

First is the Chirp Programming Guide which is available here: www.ti.com/.../swra553.pdf

The other main resource is going the be the mmmwave-SDK User Guide where the Chirp Programming section begins on page 14.

All three of your questions can be answered in the first document while questions two and three can be answered in the second document.

    Cheers,
    Akash
