IWR1443BOOST: EVM not connecting to the mmWave Visualizer program

we updated CCS to the newest available version and loaded the latest version of level sensing demo for the IWR1443. Unfortunately IWR1443 EVM is still not connecting to the mmWave Visualizer PC program and we can't run the demo anymore. We've been able to run it previously (MSP432 and IWR1443 EVM).

Can you help troubleshooting this?

    What binaries have you flashed on your IWR1443BOOST? Were you running the visualizer with the MSP432LAUNCH-XL?

    Which SDK version are you using?

    We need more information in order to assist you.

    Hi Akash,

    we flashed IWR1443BOOST following the TIDEP-0091 instructions - with the xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss.bin and the lsdemo_14xx_mss.bin.

    At the moment SDK version of 01 00 00 05 is used. MSP432LAUNCH-XL is not used with the Visualizer.

    Hi Bartosz,

    Current TIDEP-0091 uses the mmWave-SDK 1.1 which is available here: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

    You'll also definitely need the MSP-EXP432P401R for full demo functionality since the MSP432 is the SPI Master and uses the IWR1443 as a Slave.

    If you're trying to use the Standard mmWave Demo Visualizer then you'll need the standard binaries from the mmWave-SDK.

    thank you. Feedback from customer:

    I flashed the standard mmWave-SDK binaries for the IWR1443. (mmwave_sdk_01_02_00_05\packages\ti\demo\xwr14xx\mmw\ xwr14xx_mmw_demo_mss.bin)

    IWR1443 EVM was conneected for the mmWave Visualizer but when I send a config to the mmWave device In the console messages window appeard this message :
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    mmwDemo:/>sensorStart
    Error -1

    mmwDemo:/>Exception: main.c, line 1895.
    ------------------------------------------------------------

    Do you have any idea, what else could be the problem?

    Hi Bartosz,

    I'd make sure the customer has correctly flashed the IWR1443BOOST with both the BSS and the MSS from mmWave-SDK 1.2. Then I'd recommend confirming the visualizer is set to xWR1443 and mmWave-SDK 1.2. These are common mistakes that can result in visualizer malfunction.
