TDC1000-GASEVM: Difference between V5p0 and AVDD?

Part Number: TDC1000-GASEVM

Hi!

I am wondering what the difference is between the V5p0 and the AVDD voltage levels in the schematics of TDC1000-GASEVM? Could one of them be removed and used by the other one?

Also, as I am designing my own stripped down PCB version I was thinking if it is possible to remove the TPS2553DBV-1, as the USB_5V is not being used anywhere?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Thibault

  • Hi Thibault,

V5p0 is the input to the board (after passing through L1) and then the input to regulator U3, and AVDD is the output (about 3.6V according to the Radj value). As long as it is a stable, regulated source, AVDD could come from anywhere.

Yes, you shouldn't have any issues with removing that if you do not have a use for the output.

    Regards,
