AWR1443: Creating a secondary bootloader to load images during runtime

Part Number: AWR1443
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, AWR1243, IWR1443, TIDEP-0091,

TI Team,

We have a client that wants run-time loading of images from a peripheral (UART, CAN, etc) to the AWR1443. Now, I've seen that there is a bootloader flow for the AWR1243 (SWRA561) and the AWR1642 (SWRA551), but I can't seem to find one for the AWR1443. Is there a AWR1443 Bootloader Flow document? If not, can I assume that the process outlined in:
AWR1642: question about boot loader is roughly the same process for the AWR1443?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

Can you please let us know what the application is? Is the customer interested in using AWR1443 or IWR1443?

    Thank you
    Cesar
  • Ultimately it's an industrial application similar to the TIDEP-0091 application - we are going to be migrating to the IWR 1443 when board prototypes are finished. The client needs to be able to load replacement images from the host to the radar, while the radar is sealed as part of field serviceability - we're limited to a UART and Power and Ground going through a bulkhead passthrough.

However, until prototypes are finished I'm developing on the AWR1443Boost ecosystem
  • Hi Alex,

Bootloader flow for AWR1443 and AWR1642 is same, so the suggestion on the post is valid for AWR1443 as well.

Let us know if you have any specific question.

    Regards,
    Kaushal
