AWR1243: Simultaneous TX at cascaded chips

For clarification: I understood that you could have 12 tx channel. My question was, if they can all be active simultaneously (using a phase modulation). In that case you would have 12*12dBm overall transmit power. This is possible?

Hello Enric,
With single Tx device provides 10dBm power. And with every addition Tx antenna, you will get 20*logN dB power addition.
Where N is the number of Tx antennas.
Total Tx transmit power = 20*log(N) + 10.
So if you enable all Tx (N=12) then theoretically total transmit power ~31dBm (21.58+10).

Note- this formula application under the assumption that all the TXs are synced in the Phase to create a single beam.

Okay, so it is possible to transmit chirps with all 12 Tx antennas at the exact same time.

Where does the 10 dBm come from? In the Datasheet of the AWR1243 is stated, that the transmit power per transmit channel is 12 dBm .

Does the AWR1243P will have a lower maximum transmit power?
