We want develop fall detection productusing the IWR1443.

Which demo should I use for this human fall detection?

I am tryingto use Zone Occupancy DetectionDemo. And I can get the move object point could. Can I detect the person not object using the Zone Occupancy DetectionDemo?

Any idea about the fall detection？I have no idea about fall detection. I am stuck In the Zone Occupancy DetectionDemo.

Hi Weisen,

The Zone Occupancy Demo is just a GUI to run with the Out of Box Demo. You can remove static objects from this by turning on static clutter removal with the configuration. See the SDK user's guide for information on how to do this.

To detect falls: The Zone occupancy GUI has a 2D occupancy grid. Consider extending this grid to 3D. Then, to detect a fall, look for a fast change in the occupancy of height cells.

Hi Justin

I had segmented point cloud into clusters based on Euclidean distance. Each cluster represents a person. I am still working on the fall detection. But I have the following question need your help.

Could you tell me more detail (you mentioned solution) about the fall detect using the IWR1443?

How to definite the height cells? Or what is the height cells?

How to measure the faster change of height cells?

How can I get the velocity of each point cloud or cluster (person)?

Hey Weisen,

We do not have a fall detection solution. You will need some way to tell that the cluster of points is falling. The point cloud will give velocity (doppler) of each point, you can use this to determine velocity of the cluster.
