IWR1443BOOST: IWR1443BOOST

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM

Hi,

I am going to setup an experiment similar to "Robotic mapping and navigation using TI's mmWave sensor" available through this link. I am going to set up a similar experiment. For this, I think I should buy IWR1443BOOST, MMWAVE-DEVPACK, and TSW1400EVM from TI. Can somebody please confirm this? Or otherwise, some of these tools are not required or we may need some other tolls to add/replace?

Thanks

Hossein

  • Hi Hossein,

In case you haven't come across it, this demo is available under mmWave Industrial toolbox on TI Resource Explorer. The included user guide provides the required instructions to install and run this demo. Please note that a Turtle Bot 2 robot is required to run this demo as mentioned in the Hardware requirements section. You do not need MMWAVE-DEVPACK and TSW-1400 EVM unless you want to capture raw data. For raw data capture, we have the new DCA1000 Ethernet based data capture card which is directly attached to the mmWave sensor EVM without needing a DEVPACK.

I would also suggest you to look at the ROS Point Cloud Visualizer Lab which displays the mmWave Point Cloud on ROS visualizer. A Turtle bot 2 robot is not required for this lab and it can be run with only an mmWave sensor EVM and a Linux PC.

  • Many thanks Nitin,

It was first a bit confusing, as I assumed to be able to connect IWR1443BOOST to a PC I need MMWAVE-DEVPACK and TSW1400EVM. What is still confusing for me is the difference between MMWAVE-DEVPACK and TSW1400EVM or their newer version DCA1000EVM.

    Best regards,

    Hossein
