Hi, 

Is the result register of the TMP116 (configured in a continuous mode) reset after reading (or anyhow else locked or inaccessible)? 

In my application I would like to just read temperature without need of checking the Data_ready bit before every temperature reading. Is this allowed?

    Hi Michal,

    No, the result register in TMP116 is not reset, locked, or inaccessible during normal operation. It is reset at power-on, and will contain 8000h until the first measurement is completed. The first measurement should be completed 125ms after power-on with the default configuration.

    You may read the temperature without checking the Data_Ready bit.
