AWR1642BOOST: Exception for a profile configuration

Hi,

I'm facing a problem with a particular adcbufCfg.

The below configuration throws the exception: "DSS Frame Processing Deadline Miss Exception".

But if the adcbufCfg is changed as follows, it is working fine without any exception.

I've tried this with mmwave_sdk_01_02_00_05 and mmwave visualiser.

This issue is not happening for other "profileCfg" configurations.

Please review the mmwave sdk user's guide. "1" will not meet divisibility requirements and an assert will occur

It is crashing with 0 and with 1 it is working fine.

Then the debug message makes sense.

It is generated by the SDK demo because there is too much data to process and the time available during the frame idle time is not sufficient for both processing and UART transmission.

But it is crashing with the following frame configuration also...

frameCfg 0 1 16 0 500 1 0

Hi,

This is a very good data point.

Since you are interested in understanding and learning the internals of the oob demo, I recommend the following:

Use
frameCfg 0 1 16 1 1000 1 0

With this configuration you will run only 1 frame and you will be able to set a breakpoint in the code. The oob demo already has a benchmarking framework. This will allow to understand how many cycle the processing takes and what causes the missed deadline.

This will also help you develop debugging skills for future projects

Hi Cesar,

I've tried that frame configuration(frameCfg 0 1 16 1 1000 1 0) with the above-given profile configuration and other profile configurations.

I've put a breakpoint after following if condition:

if (dataPathObj->chirpCount == 0)
{
...
(breakpoint) MmwDemo_interFrameProcessing(dataPathObj);
...
}

It is found that with the above-given profile configuration, breakpoint was not hit and "gMmwDssMCB.dataPathObj[0].chirpCount" value is 24, but for other profile configurations it is becoming 0 and the breakpoint was hit.

My use case requires that profile configuration. Can you please try this profile(profileCfg 0 77 2 4.4 54.4 0 0 10.04 1 256 5210 0 0 30) configuration? And let me know the problem with that profile configuration.
