DCA1000EVM: Transition cfg file of IWR1443BOOT(Visializer) to xml of DCA1000EVM (mmwave Studio)

Hi,

I want transition cfg file of IWR1443BOOT to xml file of DCA1000EVM(with 1IWR443BOOT).

I tried migrating parameters with the same name.


But the following 3 parameters  were errored ,when I pushed each "Set".
What's wrong?

1.RampEndTime(μs)
of profile
of SensorConfigration
ofSensorConfig Tab

Cfg is 114.29,but mmwave Studio set error (not 76 to 81),
I set it 81.

2. SampleRate(ksps)
 of profile
 of SensorConfigration
of SensorConfig Tab

Cfg is 2107,but mmwave Studio set error ,
I set it 10000.

3. EndChirp TX
 of Frame
 of SensorConfigration
of SensorConfig Tab

Cfg is 2,but mmwave Studio set error ,

    For the error you are receiving for your profileCfg command, the bandwidth of a chirp is defined as the product of the slope and the end ramp time. Using your values, the bandwidth of your chirp would be 35*114.29 = 4000.15.

    Since the maximum bandwidth on device is 4 GHz, your configuration would be invalid. If you lower your end ramp time to 114, then your chirp profile will be valid.

    Additionally, if you lower the ramp end time to 114 instead of 114.29, you can keep the sampling rate at your original value of 2107 ksps.

    This should also clear up the frame configuration issue that you are seeing as well.

    Hello,

    As Kyle has identified, the profilecfg needs to be modified to not exceed the bandwidth. As to your question of translating cfg commands to dca1000 commands I suggest using hte DatacaptureDemo_xWR.lua file from the quick start guide as a template. You can modify the profile, chirp, and frame config lines there to match cfg files generated by the visualizer. 

    If you want to know what the parameters mean open up the Lua shell in mmWave Studio and type: help ar1.<command> such as help ar1.ProfileConfig.

    Here is an example that correlates with the cfg file attached:
