Hi Team,

We are trying to estimate the performance of the radar that will be designed simply.

Is the formula (Accuracy = Resolution / sqrt (2 x SNR)) commonly used when estimating radar performance like the radar equation?

What is the formula used to estimate the accuracy?

Do you have references?

Hi Kuerbis,

This is the formula used for accuracy estimation. Note that the formula is an approximation and you may find slight variations of it. Please make sure to convert the SNR to linear scale (10^(SNRdb/10) before using in this equation. You may also find the following threads on this subject useful: e2e.ti.com/.../703590

My question is if that formula could be used to estimate the accuracy of the radar in generally?

Is it only TI mmWave device? Or Can we use it with other FMCW radar commonly?

Hi Kuerbis,

The accuracy formula is applicable to FMCW radar in general. It is not specific to TI mmWave Sensors.
