Assume the frame has 8 chirps: 4 C1+4 C2, see fig1.

C1 and C2 are all the same, except : the Idle time of C1=10us，Idle time of C2=100us

1/ when config the frame,are the steps right in fig2? Especially all the profile =0 for the 8 chirps and No of Chirp Loops=1.

2/ if No of Chirp Loops=2.

What is the frame’s costructure?

C1C1C1C1+C2C2C2C2+ C1C1C1C1+C2C2C2C2 or

C1C1C1C1+ C1C1C1C1+ C2C2C2C2+ C2C2C2C2+

Which one above is right？

Hi,

In order to understand the chirp configuration, you need to understand the use of Chirp RAM and Profile RAM

Hello,

It should be the first structure, C1C1C1C1+C2C2C2C2+C1....

However, I would recommend using multiple profile Id's for various chirps. For example, set Profile Id to 0 for C1 under 'Sensor Configuration' and 'Chirp' and set Profile Id to 1 for C2 under 'Sensor Configuration' and 'Chirp'.

I aggree with you: using different profile ids.

But it seems different chirp should be different profile id, as a result a further dissussion comes out:

TI only allows 4 profile ids.

if the frame is c1c2c3c4c5c6c7c8c10c11c12, and the chirps are all different.

in this case, the 12 chirps can not have 12 profile ids.

What kinds of profile id style is better:

(1)all chirps belongs to 1 profile id, like p0p0p0p0.....

(2)the chirps belongs to different profile id , but chirp id is continuous, like p0p0p0p0p1p1p1p1p2p2p2p2

(3)the chirps belongs to different profile id , but chirp id is not continuous, like p0p1p2p3p0p1p2p3p0p1p2p3.

Which style is better, or either one is ok?

Hi,

You do not require multiple profile IDs for different chirps. Profiles are used mainly to define the RF parameters, and if you can use a single profile to achieve your desired chirp configurations, it is better overall. In general, using lesser profiles is better.

All 3 of your configurations above are okay if they meet your requirement.
