OPT101: OPT101P storage and soldered

Hi,

I try to find information how OPT101P (DIP-8) should be storage and soldered and are not able to find any information about it. Our supplier has written MSL 6 on the package.

What requirement has it for storage?

Are it any special requirement when hand soldering?

Can it be soldering with wave and/or selective soldering machine and what is the requirement then?

Hi Viktor,

Since OPT101P is a DIP-8 package it doesn’t carry a MSL classification because MSL was developed for surface mount devices (SMD). It was labeled MSL6 because MSL6 is the lowest level and means the part must go through baking prior to be used. Baking conditions per JEDEC J-STD-033C are 125C for 48 hrs.

Storage condition is 30C, 65% RH.

This package can be wave soldering or selective soldered.
