Hello,

I am replacing the UART with CAN on the AWR1642BOOST.
I downloaded "lab0005_object_data_over_can" in "mmwave_automotive_toolbox_2_1_2". But I have a CAN adapter that does not support CANFD, so I need to use it in classic mode to sends the detections over CAN interface.
How should I modify the code of "lab0005objectdataovercan"?

Hello ,

For the MCAN to work in classic CAN mode set the "frameType = CANFD_MCANFrameType_CLASSIC" in mss_main.c.

You will need to disconnect SPI inorder to use the CAN as both these interfaces are muxed together. Can you tell me the version of the AWR1642BOOST you are using?

Hi Raghunandan,

The version of the AWR1642BOOST I'm using is REV A.

This link mentioned that In case you are using the AWR1642BOOST, then please remove "TIDA_1570" from the "Predefined Symbols" of the "odoc_16xx_mss" project. Do I need to do this?

You would need this change . Remove the TIDA_1570 from the code and the Predefined Symbols.

Hello Jane ,

I would suggest you to refer section "How to connect xWR14xx/xWR16xx EVM to CCS using JTAG" in the user guide of MMWAVE-SDK . It will provide you withe steps to connect to the AWR1642BOOST via JTAG for debugging.

Hi Raghunandan,

Now, I can use my CAN adapter to receive data, but I can't use MMWAVECANVisualizer.exe for demo, is there any other way to demo?

Since PEAK system's PCAN-USBFD is expensive, can you recommend other CANFD-USB adapters that can use MMWAVECANVisualizer.exe for demos?
